
Check-In Details
Check-In is 4:00PM or later – Unless early check-in was confirmed and paid for prior to arrival.
You must stop by the Corolla Light Sports Center to pick up your check-in packet, including parking passes to enter the neighborhood, wristbands for neighborhood amenities, and the weekly activity guide. To receive your packet, give the person at the front desk the name your reservation is under and the house name: Happy Daze 708. The Sports Center will be on your way to Happy Daze on the left side of North NC 12 as you enter the Corolla Light area.

If you arrive before your check-in time you may park in the parking lot at the Oceanfront pool complex and use the neighborhood amenities, once you’ve picked up your check-in packet from the Sports Center.
Please keep in mind you may not enter the house/pool/hot tub until the cleaning crew has finished and it’s your check-in time, or you’ve been notified Happy Daze is ready early for your arrival. Check-in is 4pm, unless early check-in was confirmed. Please note the pool and hot tub may not be ready until 4pm due to the pool vendor’s schedule even if you have early check-in. If the pool/hot tub are ready earlier then 4pm we will text you. If Happy Daze happens to be available earlier then your scheduled check-in time, you will receive a text, email, or phone call from us notifying you it’s ready for your arrival.
Upon your arrival please remember:
- Report any cleaning or maintenance issues you observe immediately to us: Owners@HappyDazeOBX.com
- Happy Daze Maximum Occupancy is 12 guests of any age, no exceptions.
- NO PETS/Emotional Support/Therapy Dogs. Bringing a pet or other animal is a violation of our vacation rental agreement and unfortunately grounds for immediate eviction. Bottom line: Please do not bring animals as it will get awkward for all of us!
- NO SMOKING! Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas of our home including decks, under the house, and the pool area. Please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground or in the yard outside.

Keyless Door Lock Instructions
Happy Daze has a keyless door lock system on main door on the ground level. Prior to your arrival you’ll receive an email with your code for the week. See below for instructions and a video on how to use the lock.
- To Unlock the keyless lock: Enter your code and turn the door knob on the lock when you hear it unlock.
- To Lock press the Lock Button while the door is closed.
- Normal operation procedures are shown in the video below:
- Press buttons firmly and one at a time.
- When you successfully enter you code, you’ll hear the door unlock.
- A RED flash indicates an error. Try again
- Wait until the flashing stops before your next attempt.
- Press the lock button to lock the door.
- If the deadbolt continues to make noise when trying to lock, pull the door handle closer to you to help the deadbolt align and latch.
Keyless entry timing sensitivities:
- Allowing a time lapse of 5 seconds or more between pressing buttons will result in the lock registering an incorrect code.
- Several incorrect code entries will result in the lock going into a LOCK OUT mode, indicated by red flashing lights. Any subsequent incorrect codes will yield yet another LOCK OUT mode. Do not reattempt entry until the LOCK OUT mode has lapsed and all flashing lights have subsided.
Check-Out Details
Check-Out is 9:00AM, or earlier, without exception. Your keyless lock code will expire at 9:00AM on your check-out day.
If you know you will be leaving prior to 9:00am, please text Kelly at 252-629-1177 the day before so we can update our cleaners. They appreciate any additional time, as will the next guests, so kindly let us know!
Prior to checking out, please follow the below Before You Leave check-list to ensure the next guests will be able to check-in on time. Per the Vacation Rental Agreement: “Premises should be left “broom clean”, kitchen dish ware and pots/pans should be left clean and stored properly, and all trash should be removed from the premises.” If Happy Daze requires extra cleaning because it was left in poor condition, you may be charged, so please, leave it like you found it!
We understand mishaps happen, but if there is a problem, we need to know right away so we can sort it out before the next guests arrive. If anything was accidentally broken, damaged, or soiled please notify us immediately so we can arrange repairs: Owners@HappyDazeOBX.com | 252.629.1177
Before You Leave:
- Leave all linens on beds & towels in the rooms for which they were provided.
- Place all trash in the outdoor trash receptacles. Corolla Light Resort provides trash roll-out service, so please leave the cans under the house and they will take them out on the correct day.
- Close and lock all windows and doors.
- Close all slider curtains and blinds.
- Remove all food from the refrigerator; set temperature to medium.
- Please, leave nothing behind in the fridge, freezer or cabinets, per request of our cleaning crew!
- Please clean out the outdoor Hangout fridge if your drinks/kids/friends have left a mess!
- Turn off and unplug all small appliances such as toaster, coffee pots, etc.
- Turn off all interior and exterior lights and ceiling fans.
- Load and start the dishwasher.
- Set thermostat to 72° on cool.
- Tie down the hot tub cover with the black hurricane straps.
- Clean the grill if you used it.
- Tidy up outside including the decks, hangout space, yard, and pool area.
- Return all furniture to its proper configuration (but, we really hope you didn’t move it!).
- Check all rooms, closets, drawers, cabinets, and outside areas for personal belongings. We are not responsible for lost/left items.
- Kids – Help your parents pack up the car, clean up anything and be kind to your parents! They took you on a great vacation and it’s likely a long drive home! 😉

Your week, if available for rent, will be held for you to rebook for next year for up to 5 days after your departure. If you wish to rebook your same week, please let us know by the Friday following your check-out. If you have other plans, also let us know so we can offer it to our waitlist.
