Heads up! Happy Daze is only available by booking direct through the owners and availability is limited! We want to provide our guests with the best possible vacation experience, which is why we are excited to work directly with you to book a stay in our home! Please note: we do not list or offer our home on any sites other than our own (www.HappyDazeOBX.com), including 3rd party booking sites such as VRBO, Craigslist, and AirBnB.
Happy Daze is not a rental house, it is our dream home in which all three of us have poured our hearts and souls into, plus some sweat & tears! Because we want you to feel comfortable, safe, and at home during your stay, our rates include high quality linens, upgraded towels, professional COVID compliant cleaning, and Corolla Light Resort user fees for a max of 12 guests all at no additional fee!

Because we rent direct, we require a deposit.
Pre-Reservations/Save the Date Deposit: This deposit to pre-reserve/hold your week will become your refundable Security Deposit once your reservation is confirmed when your Vacation Rental Agreement (lease) is signed. Deposits are $500 for new guests and $250 for returning guests.
Security Deposit Policy: As mentioned above, your Save the Date Deposit becomes your refundable Security Deposit once your reservation is confirmed. All Security Deposits are returned within 14 days of departure pending no damage. We understand mishaps happen, but if there is a problem, please let us know right away so we can sort it out before the next guests arrive.
Early Check-in Option: Check-in time is 4PM on Sundays. Although Happy Daze may be ready earlier, it is not guaranteed until 4PM. If available, and you’d like to include Early Check-in at 2PM for $125, please note in your reservation request to add this option. Please note early check-in is for the home, the pool and hot tub may not be ready until 4pm due to the pool vendor’s schedule.
Schedule of Payments
1st Payment: Due before or within 72 hours of the Vacation Rental Agreement being sent via email to hold your week. This is your Save the Date Deposit, which becomes your refundable Security Deposit once your lease is signed and your reservation is confirmed. Until we receive your 1st Payment the week is not held. If we do not receive it within 72 hours of the Vacation Rental Agreement being sent, the week will be released to the waitlist.
2nd Payment: Due January 15, 2023 (or 10 days after receipt of Vacation Rental Agreement if received after 1/5/2023) 50% of rental rate, not including taxes.
Final Payment: Due 45 days prior to check-in date, the remaining 50% of rental rate plus taxes (12.75%).
If your check-in date is 45 days or less from the date you booked (reservation date), your deposit and full rental rate plus taxes (12.75%) will be due within 7 days of the Vacation Rental Agreement being sent via email.

Payments can be made via any of the following:

- Check: We will send you the address if you’d like to pay this way.
- Paypal: Owners@HappyDazeOBX.com (via friends and family to avoid fees)
Due to processing fees we do not accept credit cards.
Cancellations made at least 180 days before your check-in date will receive a full refund of payments made, minus a $150 non-refundable cancellation fee taken out of the deposit. All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email.
Travel/Trip Insurance IS NOT INCLUDED!
We are not authorized as agents to sell travel insurance; therefore it is not legal for us to do so. There are many travel insurance options that provide numerous choices and can be easily found by searching online.
Hurricane season is typically more active in September and October. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance if you are renting then; however, regardless of when you travel we encourage purchasing travel/trip insurance to protect your investment in your vacation.
Seriously, it’s worth it in the event something unexpected arises!

Happy Daze stays fully booked every season!
If you’re interested in a week that is already booked, please sign up for the waitlist. Things happen, plans change, and you might get lucky and be able to grab the week you wanted, even if it’s already booked.
Don’t miss out next year! Let us know if you’d like to be placed on the 2023 or 2024 waitlist to be contacted in event our current guest does not rebook the same week or we have a cancellation. Current guests have five (5) days after their departure to rebook the same week for the following year. If they do not rebook, the first guest on the waitlist will then have 2 days to book. If the first waitlist guest does not reserve Happy Daze within 2 days, we will move to next person on the list, and so on.
Don’t delay, get on the waitlist! This is a chance to snag the week you want before it hits the market! It’s not worth missing out on the your OBX vacation at Happy Daze!
